Info
Tigercub bring their taut, heavy rock to O2 Institute Birmingham on 27 October 2026. Formed in Brighton in 2011 by Jamie Stephen Hall and James Allix, later joined by bassist Jimi Wheelwright, the trio carved out a sound that leans into alternative and indie rock with a grunge and sludge undertow: thick guitars, tight rhythmic tension and sudden, melodic openings. Early singles and EPs, from Hands to Repressed Semantics, put them on the UK map and led to tours with Royal Blood, Blood Red Shoes and Dilly Dally. The band pushed its writing on Abstract Figures in the Dark (2016) with producer Alex Newport, then on the Evolve or Die EP (2017), where the music grew denser and more mobile. As Blue as Indigo (2021), co-produced with Adrian Bushby and mixed by Tom Dalgety, took a more introspective turn without dropping the weight, before The Perfume of Decay (2023) steered them toward a darker, more direct register. On stage, expect sharp contrasts, pressure-and-release riffs and a set that threads newer material with earlier cuts, channeling a contemporary British rock energy with a noise-leaning edge.
