Coroner

Coroner, a Zurich trio straddling thrash and progressive forms, will play on 26 September 2026 at the Centre culturel L’Ilyade in Seyssinet-Pariset. Since their beginnings the band has forged a sound built on speed and precision, where tight riffs and shifting time signatures intersect with structures inspired by classical music and the complexity of jazz. The thrash foundation remains clear, but colder, more mechanical textures that appeared around the time of Grin introduce a dry, almost industrial tension.

On stage the guitar chisels, the bass and vocals anchor, and the drums break and drive, producing an ensemble performance that is meticulously arranged yet always taut. From R.I.P. and Punishment for Decadence to No More Color and Mental Vortex, their repertoire traces a clear line: speed, structure, mastery. Sudden accelerations, ruptures, off‑beats and metallic atmospheres follow one another flawlessly, alternating between rhythmic density and more open spaces. A long‑awaited appointment for those who enjoy precise, tense thrash that remains open to progressive detours.
