Somebody's Child

On March 1, 2026 at Fox Cabaret in Vancouver, Somebody’s Child brings the Dublin indie rock project of songwriter and vocalist Cian Godfrey to the stage. The music moves between nervy alternative rock and melodic songwriting, with straight-ahead guitars, tight rhythms and lyrics rooted in city life, your twenties and the current social climate. Early self-released singles set the tone, followed by the EP 20-Something in 2020 and the more introspective Hope, Amongst Other Things in 2022. Signed to Frenchkiss Records, the self-titled 2023 album sharpens the mix: dense guitar textures, upfront choruses and a slightly raspy voice carrying the hooks. Live, the full band pushes the songs with compact arrangements, dynamic builds and a clear focus on immediacy. The set traces a path from indie rock to alternative pop with post-punk touches, balancing tense grooves and open melodies, and keeping the songwriting at the center of the show.
