Van Dik Hout

Van Dik Hout will play on 26 November 2026 at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The five-piece, formed in Den Helder and later settling in Amsterdam, built its sound around Dutch-language lyrics, bright guitars and melodies that put the vocals front and centre. Frontman Martin Buitenhuis is flanked by Sandro Assorgia, Dirk Flügge, Marcel Capelle and Louis de Wit; together they are responsible for compact arrangements and a straightforward pop‑rock sound.

The set reaches back to the self-titled 1994 debut with “Stil in mij,” then moves on to Kopstoot van een vlinder (1995) and Vier (1997). Later records also come through: Een handvol zonlicht (2000), Vandaag (2003) and Alles waar ik nooit aan begon (2007) introduce subtler shades without losing momentum. Live, the band focuses on songs that hit immediately, with guitars that keep the contours tight and lyrics that stay intimate.

Alongside their own work, their songwriting from the Poemas project (with Acda en De Munnik) resonates as well: Dutch, melodic and direct. An evening where old and new blend seamlessly, carried by a band that has kept its stylistic language sharp.
