Info

Republica brings 30 Years of Ready To Go to Òran Mór in Glasgow on 21 November 2026. Formed in Windsor in 1994 by Tim Dorney and Andy Todd, the band quickly found its voice with frontwoman Saffron, joined over time by musicians including Johnny Male and David Barbarossa. Their sound sits where UK alternative rock meets alternative dance, synth-pop and breakbeat: taut guitars, nervous drum programming and a clear, direct pop vocal. Early singles Out of This World (1994) and Bloke (1995) led to the self-titled debut album in 1996 and Speed Ballads in 1998, with Ready to Go becoming the track that fixed their place in the decade. Saffron’s appearance on The Prodigy’s Fuel My Fire in 1997 underlined the band’s links to the big beat scene and the late-90s blend of guitars and club culture. After a pause in 2001, Republica returned to the stage in 2008, released the EP Christiana Obey in 2013, and more recently the singles New York (2023) and Hallelujah (2024). Today the project revolves around Saffron, and this anniversary date looks back across the catalogue, from those first singles to the newer material, with Ready to Go at its core.
