The Reytons

On 18 February 2027 The Reytons play at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The British indie band from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, consists of singer Jonny Yerrell, guitarist Joe O’Brien, bassist Lee Holland and drummer Jamie Todd. Since 2017 they have been developing a direct, guitar-driven sound that straddles indie rock and garage rock: tight rhythms, angular riffs and lyrics that are closely attuned to everyday life in the United Kingdom.

The Reytons first made a name for themselves with a series of self-released records: the EPs It Was All So Monotonous and K.O.T.E. (2017) and Alcopops & Charity Shops (2018). In 2021 the EP May Seriously Harm You and Others Around You and the debut album Kids Off the Estate followed. They then continued with two self-released albums, What's Rock and Roll? (2023) and Ballad of a Bystander (2024), which further hone their compact, no-nonsense approach. Their ties to their hometown Rotherham also come through on Clifton Park, the 2024 live album that captures a major hometown concert.

In Amsterdam those songs will come to life in a set that leans on their three albums and the early EPs: short, clear tracks, catchy choruses that linger and plenty of momentum, delivered without fuss.
