Axel Flovent

Icelandic indie-folk songwriter Axel Flóvent brings his hushed, introspective songs to The Grace in London on 14 October 2026. Raised in a musical family in Húsavík, he has shaped a sound where Nordic melancholy meets a warm, hopeful tone. He broke through with Forest Fires and has since refined a blend of gentle folk, ambient textures and direct, honest writing, in the orbit of artists like Bon Iver and Adrianne Lenker.

Back in his hometown after years in Reykjavík, Axel has moved toward full self-production. Recent singles Nowhere and In The Grass and the EP Fleeing the Shore outline that shift, with arrangements that stay airy while paying close attention to detail. On stage, he brings new material from a forthcoming album alongside earlier songs, letting fingerpicked guitars, soft piano and subtle electronics carry his voice. An intimate set that drifts between folk and ambient pop, keeping the focus on melody and the quiet pull of his storytelling.
