The Lemonheads

The Lemonheads bring their 2026 UK tour to The 1865 in Southampton on 23 September 2026. After a brief step out of the spotlight earlier this year, Evan Dando is back at the front, recentring the band on the songs and the community built around them.

Formed in Boston in 1986, The Lemonheads have always turned around Dando’s writing, moving from punk and college rock beginnings toward a melodic, unfussy take on alternative rock where power pop, jangle and a touch of folk meet. On stage, that history shows in sharp hooks, clear guitars and unhurried melodies that cut straight to the point.

The set spans the catalogue: early cuts, the bright pulse of It’s a Shame About Ray, their take on Mrs. Robinson, the pop edges of Come on Feel the Lemonheads, darker shades from Car Button Cloth, and later chapters from the 2006 self-titled record through Varshons and Varshons 2. Plugged-in or easing into acoustic textures, the core stays the same: concise songs carried by Dando’s voice and a band built for them. A grounded return that looks ahead while keeping the thread intact.
