Formed in Manchester in 1976, Buzzcocks helped shape the DNA of British punk and everything DIY that followed. From the self-released Spiral Scratch to the sharp pop punch of Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve) and What Do I Get?, their songs have always hit fast: short, direct, melody-first, with that mix of urgency and romance that made them stand apart.
Since the death of Pete Shelley in 2018, co-founder Steve Diggle has kept the band moving, taking over frontman duties and pushing the project forward with new writing, recording and touring. Decades in, Buzzcocks still lean into the same tight riffs, clipped choruses and restless momentum, now carried into their recent material, including the album Attitude Adjustment.
Buzzcocks play Papillon in Southampton on 9 December 2026, bringing that classic Manchester snap and a catalogue built for loud singalongs and quick-turn songs that don’t waste a second.
