James Morrison

James Morrison steps onstage with the blend of soul, pop rock and acoustic folk that marked his rise in the mid-2000s. Raised between the West Midlands and Cornwall, he started out on pub stages and busking before releasing Undiscovered in 2006, then Songs for You, Truths for Me in 2008. Since then, his catalogue has grown with The Awakening, Higher Than Here and You’re Stronger Than You Know, moving between ballads and mid-tempo tracks with R&B shades, built on guitar, piano and a husky, distinctive voice. He has also collaborated with Nelly Furtado, Jason Mraz, Jessie J and Joss Stone, and written for others, keeping a straight-ahead approach that bridges British soul, adult pop and light rock.

On 10 May 2026 at Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Morrison brings that songbook to a live set spanning early cuts and recent material. The show leans on clear melodies, unfussy arrangements and vocals upfront, with room for quieter moments and fuller band dynamics. A chance to hear the arc of his writing across two decades, delivered with the directness that has defined his path.
