Info

Loose Ends bring their UK soul blueprint to Jazz Cafe, London, on 12 June 2026. Formed in London in 1980 around Carl McIntosh, Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol, the group fused post-disco bounce with contemporary R&B and funk, building songs on supple grooves and melodic hooks. Early singles led to the albums A Little Spice, So Where Are You? and Zagora, the run that delivered Hangin’ on a String (Contemplating), Magic Touch and Slow Down. Hangin’ on a String also marked a milestone, making Loose Ends the first Afro-British group to reach No.1 on Billboard’s R&B chart and solidifying a bridge between the UK soul scene and US radio.

The story continued with The Real Chuckeeboo and Look How Long; after the departures of Jane Eugene and Steve Nichol in 1990, Carl McIntosh carried the project forward alongside Linda Carriere and Sunay Suleyman, while expanding his work as a writer and producer. On stage, the catalogue breathes through lean rhythms, glassy synths and close harmonies, connecting their 80s foundations with present-day R&B textures. This date is a chance to hear the songs that shaped their path from London clubs to transatlantic charts, with room for deep cuts as well as the tracks that still move dance floors.
