Info
On 23 August 2026 at The Piece Hall, Halifax, Public Service Broadcasting lead a night built around storytelling through sound and image, with The Big Moon joining the bill.
Built in London around J. Willgoose Esq. and long-time drummer Wrigglesworth, now expanded with JFAbraham and the visuals of Mr B, Public Service Broadcasting fuse art rock, indie, electronica and krautrock with spoken-word archives. Their catalogue maps out themed journeys: Inform-Educate-Entertain, The Race for Space, Every Valley, Bright Magic, and The Last Flight, inspired by Amelia Earhart. On stage, the group layer driving rhythms, guitars and analogue synths with documentary narration and projected footage, shaping a set that drifts from orbital launches to coal towns, from Berlin’s shadows to transatlantic skies.
Formed in 2014 around Juliette Jackson with Soph Nathan, Celia Archer and Fern Ford, The Big Moon bring a guitar-forward indie sound where tight harmonies meet direct, melodic writing. From early days and The Road EP through Love in the 4th Dimension, Walking Like We Do and Here Is Everything, the quartet has stretched from punchy riffs to broader pop contours. Live, they keep it collective and immediate, balancing energy and detail in the vocals and arrangements.
