Info

The Proclaimers bring their close-knit harmonies and plainspoken songwriting to Ipswich Regent Theatre on 4 November 2026. Formed in 1983 by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, the Scottish duo started out acoustic before opening up to a fuller band sound that blends folk rock, roots and a touch of punk energy with bright, melodic pop. Their unmistakable accent and back-and-forth vocals sit at the core of songs that move between the intimate and the socially aware.

On stage, they switch with ease from stripped-back guitar-and-voice to tighter, amplified arrangements, always keeping the focus on rhythm, storytelling and clear, singalong hooks. The set draws on a long-running catalogue: early standouts like Letter from America, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Sunshine on Leith, alongside later material from Hit the Highway, Persevere and Born Innocent, through Life with You, Notes & Rhymes, Like Comedy, Angry Cyclist and Dentures Out. Four decades in, Craig and Charlie’s voices still lock together with the same directness that first put them on the map, now returning to Ipswich with songs that carry both warmth and bite.
