Info
Christopher Cross brings his melodic soft rock to Bord Gáis, Grand Canal Square, Dublin, Ireland on 24 May 2026. Emerging from late-70s Texas with a taste for sleek arrangements, Cross wrote Ride Like the Wind and Sailing and helped define a west-coast pop sound later tagged yacht rock. His 1979 debut earned multiple Grammy Awards in 1981, including Album and Record of the Year, and he co-wrote the film theme Arthur’s Theme with Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager.
On stage, his tenor and clean guitar lines carry the set, with a band that leaves room for harmonies and a light jazz touch. The show draws on the songs that marked his debut, the Oscar-winning Arthur’s Theme, and deeper tracks that chart his path through Another Page, Walking in Avalon, Doctor Faith, Secret Ladder and Take Me As I Am. Expect steady grooves, clear melodies and arrangements shaped for the road, revisited by a songwriter who keeps refining his craft and knows how to let the songs breathe live.
