Info

New Model Army bring their long-running songbook to Progresja in Warsaw on 7 July 2026. Formed in Bradford in the early 80s, the band grew from post-punk roots into an alternative rock sound threaded with folk colours and more atmospheric shades. At the centre, singer-guitarist Justin Sullivan remains the constant, steering a trio that has shifted line-ups over the years and marked distinct phases in tone and texture.

Early albums like Vengeance (1984) and The Ghost of Cain (1986) fixed a direct, rhythm-led writing style with political, social and personal lyrics. Thunder and Consolation (1989) opened the door to violin and stronger folk inflections, while The Love of Hopeless Causes (1993) and Strange Brotherhood (1998) leaned into more melodic structures. In the 2000s and 2010s, Between Dog and Wolf (2013), Winter (2016), From Here (2019) and Unbroken (2024) pushed a darker, narrative approach, balancing driving grooves, almost tribal pulses and slower, brooding passages.

On stage, the band plays on dynamics and contrast, stitching older tracks to recent material. At Progresja, expect a set that moves with purpose, carried by Sullivan’s voice and tight interplay.
