Info
On April 18, 2026, Klaus Hoffmann will bring his songs and texts to the stage at Music Hall Worpswede e.V. in Worpswede. The Berlin-based singer and actor has stood since the 1970s for a songwriter’s signature that combines chanson, pop ballad and narrative poetry. His pieces revolve around everyday life, memory and the city he comes from; musically they remain close to voice, piano and guitar — pared-back, clear and resonant.
A formative part of his career is his engagement with Jacques Brel, whose songs Hoffmann has been interpreting in his own German versions since the late 1970s. Alongside this strand he has, over the years, released a wide repertoire of his own songs, which he continually reshuffles and presents live in a concentrated way.
In Worpswede one can expect an evening that brings both together: Hoffmann’s own songs and selected Brel adaptations, carried by his compelling storytelling and a chamber-music sound. A concert that puts text and melody in the foreground — unadorned, direct and intimate.
