Angine de Poitrine

Angine de Poitrine land at History, Toronto, on November 6, 2026. Formed in 2023, the Quebec duo works without vocals, shaping instrumental pieces that slip between experimental rock, math rock and angular post-punk, with a construction method that nods to techno’s looping logic. Their music builds through accumulation and subtraction: short motifs stack, then recede; a dry, precise drum sound anchors the flow while guitar and bass explore microtonal lines and chromatic turns that introduce discreet tension inside often asymmetrical structures.

On stage, movement leads the way. Patterns shift, rhythms displace, and sections mutate rather than resolve, keeping the energy tight yet physical. After Vol. 1 in 2024 and a quick run across Quebec stages, including the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Klek and Khn de Poitrine have refined a set where the charge of rock meets a more minimal, evolving approach to repetition.
