Info
On July 18, 2027, at RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto, Angine de Poitrine brings its instrumental shake-up from Quebec, sitting somewhere between experimental rock, math rock, and angular post-punk, with a strangely mechanical pulse that can feel close to techno. Built without vocals, their tracks lean on the slow build of short motifs, then sudden subtractions, with tight, matte drums and microtonal guitar and bass lines that twist into chromatic tension. Expect asymmetric structures, rhythmic displacement, and that specific mix of precision and movement that keeps things both jolting and weirdly danceable.
Sharing the bill, Voivod comes in with its long-running, shape-shifting take on thrash: technical, dissonant, and packed with progressive turns. From the late-80s classics that pushed their writing into labyrinthine territory to the more abrasive phases and the recent albums that keep expanding their sci-fi-tinted identity, Voivod’s set should move through fractured rhythms, atypical harmonies, and that restless energy they’ve refined across decades.
