Dodgy bring the Free Peace Sweet 30th anniversary tour to O2 Ritz Manchester on 3 October 2026. Formed in west London in 1990, the band carved out a melodic corner of the britpop era with bright guitars, crisp harmonies and sharp choruses that lean toward power pop. Free Peace Sweet (1996) remains a key chapter in their story, the period that delivered Good Enough and If You’re Thinking of Me, while earlier staples like Staying Out for the Summer helped set their tone. Reunited since 2007, the group has kept a steady live presence, channeling that catalogue with the immediacy and warmth that made their songs stick.
Sharing the bill, The Icicle Works step in from Liverpool’s early-80s independent scene. Led by Ian McNabb, the band blends post-punk tension, new wave sheen and a neo-psychedelic edge, built on chiming guitars and melodic hooks. Early singles like Nirvana and Love Is a Wonderful Colour gave them their identity, followed by a run of albums through the decade. Decades on, their set draws from a body of songs that balance drive and atmosphere, a fitting counterpoint to Dodgy’s tuneful punch at O2 Ritz Manchester in Manchester.
