Deep Purple

Deep Purple bring their hard rock craft to OVO Hydro in Glasgow on 19 November 2026. Formed in the late 60s, the band still leans on the chemistry that made its sound unmistakable: thick guitar riffs, a roaring Hammond organ and the unmistakable phrasing of Ian Gillan. Around him, the engine room stays sharp and precise, with Ian Paice on drums and Roger Glover on bass, while Don Airey’s organ lines spar with the guitar of Simon McBride, who carries the torch with a crisp, melodic bite.

On stage, the group roams across decades of material without nostalgia, revisiting early 70s milestones and later chapters, and folding in newer tracks. Songs like Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Lazy or Space Truckin’ are regular fixtures, traded with deeper cuts that keep fans on their toes. Solos stretch and breathe, grooves tighten and loosen, and that organ-guitar dialogue remains the band’s signature. It’s a set built for live dynamics, played by musicians who know exactly how to let these songs hit the room.
