Mathieu Madénian returns with a new show that looks at current events on a human scale — the life of a guy whose world was truly upended by the arrival of a baby. On stage, he doesn't play the perfect dad: he recounts sleepless nights, back-to-back diaper changes, the doubts that creep in at bottle time, and the small joys that arrive when your schedule goes out the window.
His playground is the present, the news as it lands, and life moving too fast, but filtered through the eye of a new father. We hear his dry wit, the biting self-deprecation, and this way of taking a detail of daily life and tracing it to the bigger picture, from the couple to society, from the stroller to a world that's slipping.
With a mic in hand, he lays out a direct stand-up, without pose, where the intimate and the collective respond to one another. A fourth installment, between a chronicle of the era and a diary of parenthood.
