Info
On April 11, 2027, Bruce Cockburn brings his songs to The Centre in Vancouver, for a night that puts the focus where it’s always been with him: the writing, the voice, and that fingerstyle guitar. Since his late-’60s arrival on the Canadian folk circuit, Cockburn has kept stretching the singer-songwriter format, moving from bare acoustic pieces to sets colored by rock, jazz, and wider rhythmic influences.
His catalogue traces a long route, from the early folk of his 1970 debut and the ’70s run that mixed pop and more spiritual tones, to the sharper, more electric edge he explored in the ’80s, with lyrics that look outward at social and geopolitical realities. Live, he’s known for keeping things direct and human, shifting between intimate arrangements and bigger textures without losing the thread: storytelling that balances political observation, inner reflection, and a strong sense of place.
