Johnny Symphonique Tour 2027–2028

“The real Johnny Hallyday is on stage.” Yvan Cassar

This intimate conviction is one that Yvan Cassar has nurtured over more than fifteen years during which he accompanied Johnny as musical director. It forms the starting point of a distinctive project entrusted to him: to reproduce the full strength and emotion of Johnny Hallyday's voice as it resonated in concert, while offering him the sonic backdrop made possible by studio recordings.

From this ambition came two albums: in 2019, Johnny, and in 2021 Act II. Both rest on an innovative principle: preserving Johnny Hallyday's live vocal takes and magnifying them with new arrangements, sometimes symphonic, sometimes deliberately pared-back. An homage to the artist, with an intensity that only the stage could reveal.

In May 2022, Johnny Symphonique hit the road for an initial twenty-date tour. Under Yvan Cassar's direction, more than a hundred musicians, a choir, and a spectacular visual production accompany Johnny's voice, reproduced on three giant screens. The classics regain their breath: Diego, libre dans sa tête; L’Envie; Allumer le feu; Que je t’aime; but also Marie, Sang pour sang, or Je te promets.

A new series of concerts is scheduled for spring 2024, enriched with new titles including Gabrielle, Noir c’est noir, and the rhythm and blues medley imagined by Johnny in the sixties. The repertoire broadens, the emotion remains. In total, these two tours will have drawn more than 100,000 spectators.

In 2027, as the public prepares to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Johnny Hallyday's death, Johnny Symphonique opens a new chapter. Beginning November 10, 2027, the show will run for 23 dates across France through March 2028, notably at the Zénith in Paris on December 1, 2027. Still under Yvan Cassar's direction, it will continue to make that voice heard, carried by the power of a symphonic orchestra and a spectacular staging.

This new tour will offer new musical tableaux, an expanded repertoire, and several exceptional guests who will join in this celebration.
