Blood Wizard

Emerging in 2021 with an album of home recordings titled Western Spaghetti, the South London-based project, fronted by songwriter Cai Burns, quietly gained underground popularity. What began as a solo project with folkier leanings gradually evolved into a collaborative unit that became heavier, slower, and harder to pin down, blending ragged indie rock, dreamy synths, and glitched-out textures. Since then, Blood Wizard have built a following across the UK and beyond and have become a fixture of London's DIY scene.

Following 2024's Grinning William, 2026's Lucky Life finds Blood Wizard exploring a confident, expansive sound. Over country-fried lead guitars, Burns' dry, understated delivery anchors songs that feel personal, poetic and abstract. The result sits somewhere between a house show and a late-night fever dream. The EP focuses on the people, places and passing thoughts that shape everyday life, further refining their sound. Blood Wizard play The Hope & Ruin on 10 October 2026 at 7:00 pm.
