It’s 45 years since ACR went into Revolution Studios in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport to record the 1982 album Sextet, and 40 years since the release of the 1986 album Force, also recorded in Stockport at Yellow 2. A Certain Ratio perform on 7 October 2026 at The Castle & Falcon, Birmingham, at 6:00 pm.
Sextet is ACR’s critically acclaimed album and the first they produced as ACR. It includes Lucinda and Knife Slits Water.
Force was produced by ACR and Stuart (Jammer) James and was their last album on Factory Records. It includes Mickey Way and Si Firmo O Grido.
Each album is different yet clearly ACR.
