Oliver Ackermann, singer and guitarist of New York City’s A Place to Bury Strangers, has been active for close to two decades, combining post-punk, noise rock, shoegaze, psychedelia, and avant-garde elements. As the founder of Death By Audio, a maker of effects pedals, he has worked with many artists who use his gear. On stage, A Place to Bury Strangers is known for intense sound, sudden shifts, real-time experimentation, and immersive volume.
Ackermann has launched his own label, Dedstrange. He has also refreshed the lineup, adding bassist John Fedowitz and drummer Sandra Fedowitz. The Hologram EP is the first release from the new lineup and the first on Dedstrange. Support from Die Anstalt. A Place to Bury Strangers plays at Hare & Hounds on 2 September 2026 at 6:30 pm.
