Soft Machine return to Hot Box Live Events on 18 February 2027 at 7:00 pm as part of the Hot Box 10-year anniversary.
Soft Machine is a UK avant jazz-rock band. From early psychedelic performances alongside Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd and the Jimi Hendrix Experience to a later fusion period, their work has influenced several generations and continues to be name-checked by today's experimentalists.
While the line-up has changed many times since the late 1960s, the band's spirit of musical adventure remains. The music moves from progressive jazz fusion to atmospheric psychedelia, free-improvised jazz-rock, and ambient loop music.
