The universe of Gong began in 1969 when Daevid Allen was inspired by a psychedelic vision. A founding member of Soft Machine, Allen incorporated his spiritual and metaphysical leanings into an evolving collective, more a mythology than a band in the conventional sense. The current incarnation, put together by Daevid before his final album with Gong, I See You, honours his intention that Gong should continue beyond him.
Gong performs on 2 July 2026 at 6:00 pm at The Fleece, Bristol.
