Describing J’cuuzi as a band is inaccurate. While they deliver acrobatic live performances of glitchy songs that modulate between serrated post-punk guitar and pulsing electro beats, there is a theatricality to them that the word “band” does not capture. The members wear handmade couture, with bulbous anime-esque proportions and insectile features sewn into drag silhouettes. They often perform while stacked on top of each other, or hoisted over each other’s heads. Their stage is set like a studio apartment: a spinning blue egg chair and a stack of guitar amps sit on either side of a bedazzled ironing board, from which a spinning disco ball hangs. They perform on 13 July 2026 at 6:30 pm at Brudenell Social Club.
