Info
Etana brings her roots-soul reggae to Soul Mama Islington in London on 18 October 2026. Born Shauna McKenzie in Kingston and raised partly in Florida, she blends folk, soul, jazz and reggae with a warm, grounded voice and lyrics that speak to everyday life, love and resilience. From early singles Wrong Address and Roots to her debut The Strong One, she carved a path from the Fifth Element collective and touring with Richie Spice to a solo career that travels far beyond Jamaica.
Her catalogue charts steady evolution: Free Expressions and Better Tomorrow widened the lovers rock and soul shades; I Rise reached the top of the Billboard Reggae chart, a first for a Jamaican woman in many years. Reggae Forever brought a Grammy nomination and helped mark her as a two-time Grammy nominee, while the EP Dimensions and the collaborative album Pamoja linked her with artists like Vybz Kartel, Damian Marley and Stonebwoy.
On stage, she threads classics such as I Am Not Afraid and Warrior Love with newer cuts, including tracks from Nectar of the Gods. A live moment with an artist who keeps roots reggae open to fresh influences without losing its core pulse.
