Info
On 20 May 2026 at Jazz Cafe, London, Brazilian composer, singer and keyboardist Marcos Valle brings a set that spans bossa, samba and the modern edges of MPB. From the early hit Samba de Verão, written with his brother Paulo Sérgio, to the electric grooves of the 70s and later club‑leaning projects, Valle has kept moving while staying rooted in Rio. His catalog runs from Samba Demais and O Compositor e o Cantor to Previsão do Tempo and Nova Bossa Nova, bridging acoustic lyricism and synth‑flecked funk.
Across six decades he has worked with Leon Ware, Sarah Vaughan and Chicago; his songs have been recorded by Frank Sinatra and Bebel Gilberto, and sampled by Jay‑Z, Kanye West, Childish Gambino, Madlib and Kaytranada. On stage he threads supple harmonies, Fender Rhodes voicings and rhythmic shifts that slide from beach boogie to psychedelic colors, with staples like Os Grilos alongside recent pieces from Sempre. A concert that traces a broad songbook where bossa meets soul, jazz and groove.
