Info
On September 21, 2026, Death Cab for Cutie play The Glasshouse – International Centre for Music in Gateshead. Formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997 around singer and guitarist Ben Gibbard, the band grew from a bedroom project into a full outfit with Nick Harmer on bass and, for many years, Chris Walla on guitar and behind the console. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest indie and emo scenes, they’ve shaped a sound of melodic guitars, understated rhythms and discreet keys, carrying Gibbard’s detailed, introspective writing.
From the lo‑fi debut Something About Airplanes (1998) through We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes (2000) and The Photo Album (2001), the group refined its craft before the broader sweep of Transatlanticism (2003) led to major‑label records Plans (2005) and Narrow Stairs (2008), then Codes and Keys (2011). After Walla’s departure in 2014, the trajectory continued with Kintsugi (2015), Thank You for Today (2018) and Asphalt Meadows (2022), alongside steady touring across the US and Europe. This date brings material from across that catalogue to a room built for listening.
