The Long Ryders perform at Brewery Arts on 8 October 2026 at 6:30 pm. The Long Ryders, part of the early alt-country movement, return to the stage. Fusing punk energy with country-rock harmonies, the band bridges Gram Parsons and today’s Americana, and has influenced acts such as Wilco, The Jayhawks, and Uncle Tupelo.
Rising from the Los Angeles scene, The Long Ryders released albums including Native Sons and State of Our Union, featuring the song Looking for Lewis & Clark. Their sound, built on 12-string guitars and songwriting rooted in country rock and folk rock, is associated with the alt-country movement. Following their 2019 release Psychedelic Country Soul, the band returned to the studio to record September November, their first album since the passing of bassist Tom Stevens.
