Info
On September 22, 2026 at Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax, The High Kings bring their Irish folk songbook to the stage. Formed in Dublin in 2008, the quartet of Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden and Paul O’Brien leans on tight vocal harmonies, storytelling ballads, pub favourites and a Celtic approach open to contemporary arrangements, sometimes tinged with country. With roots that run through family traditions, Riverdance and solo ventures, they shape a set that balances transmission and adaptation.
Their discography maps that blend: a self-titled debut in 2008, Memory Lane in 2010 and Friends for Life in 2013, where traditional material sits alongside songs written for the band. Then came Grace & Glory in 2016, the best-of Decade in 2017, Home from Home in 2020 and The Road Not Taken in 2023, their first album made entirely of original tracks. On stage, they move from unaccompanied harmonies to lively ensemble pieces, weaving voices, strings and percussion, drawing from their catalogue and the wider Irish repertoire for a show rooted in Ireland and carried across Europe and North America.
