SWMRS

Born in Oakland’s punk scene, SWMRS formed around brothers Cole and Max Becker, first under the names The Raining Brains and Emily’s Army before settling on SWMRS in 2014. Early albums Don’t Be a Dick (2011) and Lost at Seventeen (2013) leaned pop‑punk; the shift to SWMRS opened a wider mix of punk rock, surf currents and alternative rock, with fast structures, melodic hooks and lyrics circling adolescence, internet culture and US politics. Drive North (2016) captured a DIY Bay Area edge, while Berkeley’s on Fire (2019) brought in more indie textures and sharper social angles. On May 16, 2026 at The Workman’s Club in Dublin, the band hits the stage with a set that threads those early bursts with later tracks, keeping the focus on brisk tempos and sing‑ready refrains. Long tied to independent circuits across the US and Europe, SWMRS play close and loud, where tight harmonies, jittery rhythms and a collective, room‑level energy carry the show.
