Info

Roméo & Juliette has already brought together more than 11 million spectators around the world. Translated into 18 languages and performed in 20 countries, the show premiered in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès, where it drew nearly 2.5 million attendees. From its inception, it has been driven by the duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara. The production allows the public to see this original pairing reunited on stage. Roméo & Juliette will be presented on March 24, 2028 at 7:30 PM at the LDLC Arena.

For Cécilia Cara, returning with Roméo & Juliette is deeply moving. "I was chosen at 15 to play Juliet, a role that marked the beginning of my life as an artist. Finding it again twenty years later, alongside Damien, was a powerful moment, as if we had never been apart but had been enriched by what life has given us. This return has symbolic value: coming back to where it all began, with 25 years of experience that now feed the characters in a different way. The story continues to unite people and to convey love and emotion. It is a joy to rediscover Juliet and the French audience."

Continuing the thought, Damien Sargue adds: "Coming back after taking Roméo & Juliette around the world, notably in Asia, has a particular resonance. This role has accompanied me since 2001, and finding it again today alongside Cécilia, with the perspective and maturity that time has given us, gives this adventure a different depth."

With more than 9 million records sold and songs that have become part of French pop culture—among them "Les Rois du monde" and "Aimer"—Roméo & Juliette has left its mark on the history of musical theatre. For nearly 25 years, the show has travelled across cultures and adapted to the changes of its time: new technologies, new stage conventions, new audience expectations. Faithful to its DNA while renewing itself, it preserves what defines it: large-scale songs and a grand aesthetic.

For Gérard Presgurvic, Roméo & Juliette tells a universal love story. "It raises a contemporary question: how far are we willing to go for love?" Reuniting Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara adds depth to the production, nourished by the experience they have gained.

Roméo & Juliette returns in a reimagined version, incorporating new generational codes while preserving its essence: a timeless story, shared emotions, and a recognizable musical signature. This comeback is accompanied by a new cast, new costumes and a redesigned scenography, rethought for today without altering the show’s DNA.
