Video Games & Music — Music That Makes You the Hero
This exhibition, presented at the Philharmonie de Paris from April 2, 2026, offers a route dedicated to the relationship between music and video games, from the earliest 8‑bit sounds to contemporary orchestral scores. In just a few decades, video game music has established itself as a central element of popular culture, accompanying the experiences of several generations—between personal memories and shared adventures. Initially constrained by technical limitations, it has evolved into a creative field in its own right, engaging both symphonic ensembles and electronic experimentation. It is distinguished by its interactive nature: music conceived to be experienced and activated, with the player directly involved in triggering and shaping it.
Designed as a space inspired by video game mechanics, the exhibition is organised as a self‑guided route, inviting each visitor to move at their own pace through different worlds that blend sound, image and interaction. Several thematic zones offer immersive and interactive installations, with a selection of playable games accompanied by consoles, instruments, visual archives and audiovisual content. It is a way of exploring video game music as an experience that is at once sonic, cultural and participatory.
