Abdelkader Secteur « Marhaba »

Abdelkader Secteur presents Marhaba at the Comédie de Lille, Lille, on 9 May 2026. An Algerian comedian who has performed on Franco-Maghrebi stages, he has shaped an observational stand-up drawn from everyday life between Algeria and France. On stage he favors speech and rhythm, without artifice, unfolding a story like a conversation, sketching characters in a few words and catching the details that tip a situation over.

Marhaba, his third show, continues this direct style: families and neighbours, neighbourhood memories, the small contradictions of exile and the realities of the diaspora. Abdelkader Secteur shifts registers, moving from an intimate anecdote to a social wink, and builds a closeness based on listening to the audience and quick exchanges. Here he chooses dialectal Arabic, for a lively delivery, finely crafted expressions and an asserted cultural anchoring. The staging remains stripped-back, focused on the relationship with the audience and the musicality of the narrative, for an hour in which one follows his paths between two shores, without detour or frills.
