Info

On 5 June 2026 The Fatal Flowers will take the stage at the Zuiderparktheater in The Hague. The Amsterdam band centered on singer and guitarist Richard Janssen formed in the mid-1980s and from the start sought connection with the Anglophone rock tradition. Their sound is guitar-driven and direct: garage energy, influences from American roots rock and melodies with a dark edge, sometimes shrouded in a faint psychedelic haze. Releases such as the self-titled mini-album, Younger Days and Johnny D. Is Back! firmly established the band on the Dutch club and festival circuit; Pleasure Ground later marked the final studio release of that period.

Live, the core remains the same: songs built around the interplay between voice and guitar, supported by a rhythm section that drives things forward. The repertoire embraces the band’s different facets — alternative, with a touch of roots and an echo of new wave — without fuss, delivered straight to the audience. The Fatal Flowers play their material with the energy and craftsmanship of a band that knows these songs inside out, bringing their characteristic mix sharply into focus in the open-air theatre of the Zuiderpark.
