Emmylou Harris

On 20 May 2026 Emmylou Harris will perform at De Doelen, Rotterdam. The singer from Alabama forged a path from the late sixties folk clubs in Washington to Greenwich Village. Her collaboration with Gram Parsons anchored her in the early seventies at the crossroads of country, folk and rock. Afterwards, based in Nashville, she released albums such as Pieces of the Sky, Elite Hotel and Luxury Liner with The Hot Band, where traditionals and reworkings stood alongside personal songs. In the decades that followed she explored bluegrass and spare acoustic arrangements, and with Wrecking Ball (produced by Daniel Lanois) she moved toward a broader, more layered Americana. Red Dirt Girl and Stumble into Grace continued that trajectory, while duets and collaborative projects kept expanding her repertoire.
