Info
On May 1, 2026, Charlie Parr will perform at Patronaat in Haarlem. The American guitarist and singer from Minnesota built his reputation on acoustic country blues and folk that rely heavily on fingerpicking and slide, often played solo. His songs blend original compositions with old traditional tunes; the lyrics focus on everyday life, the margins of society and the Midwestern landscape shaped by the Duluth scene where he later settled. Since the early 2000s Parr has kept a steady pace on record, with titles such as Stumpjumper (2015), Dog (2017), Charlie Parr (2019), Last of the Better Days Ahead (2021) and Little Sun (2024). Live, he favors a spare, direct approach: little ornamentation, plenty of room for timing and detail, sometimes supplemented by a minimal rhythm section, but usually just guitar and voice. In Haarlem he will present that approach in a club setting, with a set that connects his recent work to older material.
