Anthony Kavanagh

Anthony Kavanagh returns to the stage at La Compagnie du Café-Théâtre in Nantes on May 28, 2026, to fine-tune his new show. A comedian, singer, actor and presenter from Quebec, Canada, he established himself on Francophone stages in the 1990s. His playground: a high-energy, physical stand-up rooted in improvisation, where he blends comedy, music and impressions. On the program is a perspective that crosses cultural differences, relationships and our times, with brisk, rhythmic writing that moves from one anecdote to the next. The work-in-progress format lets him test, tweak, cut and keep material in direct response to the audience, refining the content of his next show. Alongside his stage work, he has lent his voice to animated films such as Mulan, Brother Bear and The Princess and the Frog—a background that also informs his stories and characters.
