Anthony Kavanagh

Anthony Kavanagh is back on stage at La Compagnie du Café-Théâtre in Nantes on May 30, 2026, to fine-tune his new show. A Québécois comedian who has also worked on the French scene, he plays with the conventions of stand-up: direct address, well-timed beats, and a back-and-forth between punchlines and personal storytelling. On stage he blends improvisation, music, light choreography and impressions, with a sense of timing honed over his shows. This run-through is the space where he tests brand-new material, adjusts his angles, explores tangents, and gauges audience reactions in real time.

His themes remain rooted in everyday life and encounters: cultural differences between Quebec and France, relationships, friendships, a hurried, hyperconnected society, and the search for meaning. His experience as a presenter, actor and voice actor resurfaces in the fleeting voices and characters that pop up without warning. It’s an opportunity to see the raw material before the final version, in direct contact with the audience, in the intimacy of the theatre.
