Info
Olivier de Benoist returns with Le droit au bonheur, a show in which he turns his family life into a field of investigation. An overwhelmed husband and a father often taken by surprise, the comedian reprises his deliberately macho persona to examine, with the logic of a lawyer, everything that creaks between the couple, the children and the very idea of happiness. He unfolds his quest for happiness like a plea, both prosecution and defence, juggling assumed bad faith, razor‑sharp reasoning and a deadpan composure. Throughout the scenes he dismantles small domestic mythologies, twists clichés and ultimately delivers a moral as clear as it is provocative: to live happily, live hidden — and especially far away from one’s wife and children. His precise writing, mock arrogance and the blend of satire and tenderness that has defined his style from the start are all present. Olivier de Benoist will present Le droit au bonheur on 7 December 2026 at the Théâtre Royal, Grand-Place in Mons.
