Info

Brooklyn power trio The Thing brings a raw, garage rock charge built on fuzzed-out guitar, heavy bass lines and tight, immediate hooks. Formed by Jack Bradley (guitar, vocals), Michael Carter (bass) and Lucas Carpenter (drums), the NYC outfit draws on The Stooges, The White Stripes and Ty Segall, then pushes that lineage with a punk-leaning urgency. Their self-released records — including Here’s the Thing and The Thing Is — bottle the grit, while the live setup leans into saturated distortion, clipped tempos and a no-frills punch. Expect short, hooky bursts, feedback-laced breaks and rhythms made for small rooms, with songs that swing between teenage bite and hazy psych detours. It’s direct, loud and meant to be felt up close.

The Thing plays on March 8, 2026 at Underground, 1150 Queen Street West, M6J 1J3 Toronto, Canada. Legal age 19+.
