Info
Two pillars of 90s alternative rock share the stage when Better Than Ezra and Tonic hit OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls on March 29, 2026. Expect a setlist built on melodic guitars, clear vocals and songs that move easily between electric drive and quieter, crafted moments.
Formed in New Orleans at the tail end of the 80s, Better Than Ezra grew from the college circuit around the songwriting of Kevin Griffin and the bass lines of Tom Drummond. From the independently released Surprise to the breakthrough of Deluxe and the follow-ups Friction, Baby and How Does Your Garden Grow?, the band shaped a sound that blends alt-rock energy with power-pop instincts, later opening to more textured arrangements. Closer, Before the Robots, Paper Empire and All Together Now pushed that approach toward bright, vocal-led pop rock, while the group stayed active on the road.
Born in early 90s Los Angeles, Tonic centers on the voices and guitars of Emerson Hart and Jeff Russo, with Dan Lavery on bass. Lemon Parade set the tone in 1996 with guitar-led melodies and the single If You Could Only See, followed by Sugar in 1999 and the more introspective Head On Straight in 2002. After a pause, the trio returned with a best-of and a self-titled album, staying true to a trio dynamic that balances electric intensity with acoustic arrangements.
