Info
Cedric Burnside brings his Hill Country blues to The Pearl in Vancouver, BC on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with special guests. Raised in Mississippi and grandson of R.L. Burnside, he has built a singular voice as a singer, guitarist and drummer, rooted in raw, circular grooves and a percussive pulse that comes straight from the juke joints. His 2024 album Hill Country Love, produced by Luther Dickinson and tracked in two days in an old Tippah County law office imagined as a wooden juke joint, leans into that stripped-back feel while folding in shades of rock, R&B and hip-hop across 14 tracks.
Before that, Burnside released Descendants of Hill Country (2016), Benton County Relic (2018), and I Be Trying (2021), the latter earning a Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album. On stage, he keeps it direct and unvarnished: repeating motifs, head-nod cadence, and songs that carry the pulse of North Mississippi while speaking to the present. If you’re into blues that moves more by rhythm than ornament, this night at The Pearl is the place to catch it.
