Toc Toc by Laurent Baffie is presented on July 4, 2026 at the Théâtre Beaulieu, Nantes. In the waiting room of Dr. Stern, a world-renowned neuropsychiatrist, six patients gather for consultations after months of waiting. Palilalia, Tourette syndrome, nosophobia, or the compulsion not to step on lines: when the doctor is late, they talk, size each other up and invent games to pass the time. The play treats obsessive–compulsive disorders with restraint and plays on the collective’s dissonances, between confidences and frictions.

Directed by Pascal Maillard, Mathieu Gaudin, Marie Elie, Sophie Morin, Nelly Pichotbadeaud, Kamal Rawas and Olivier Collin form a gallery of characters with clearly defined obsessions. The dynamics rest on listening, sudden shifts and the rhythm of the lines, in a closed-room piece that highlights the encounter and the irony of the situations. Here, waiting becomes the stuff of dialogue and reveals what each person conceals behind their tics, rituals and ways of keeping the world at a distance.
