Sellig « Épisode 6 »

On May 29, 2026, Sellig arrives at BOCAPOLE Bressuire with Episode 6, a one-man show that he both wrote and directed. His playground is everyday life and those little details that are enough to derail a day. With his eye for observation, he dissects seemingly ordinary situations to reveal what they really say. He recounts his grueling apprenticeship in the kitchen, when theory collides with practice under a discipline that tolerates no compromise. He also talks about his “fifty-three-ness,” harder to swallow than simply being in his fifties, which he views with clear-eyed self-awareness and self-mockery. He takes us to an old-fashioned Christmas at his sister’s, with Bernard, the brother-in-law whose unflappable calm is inimitable, for an unvarnished family portrait. For ninety minutes, Sellig strings together stories and characters in which one recognizes quirks, pet peeves and contradictions, at a brisk pace driven by precise writing and a finely honed sense of timing.
