Info
On December 19, 2026, at Vicar Street in Dublin, Damien Dempsey brings his raw, street-level songwriting back home. Born and raised in north Dublin, he’s built a sound where folk and Irish tradition meet acoustic balladry, with subtle reggae turns that keep the pulse loose and human. Onstage, the focus is always the voice: direct, sung in his Dublin accent, and driven by stories that sit between everyday urban life, historical memory, and a kind of down-to-earth spirituality.
Over the years, from early landmarks like They Don’t Teach This Shit in School through Seize the Day and Shots, and on to later records such as No Force on Earth, Union and Hold Your Joy, Dempsey’s songs have kept a strong sense of place and purpose. Expect a set that moves between quiet intensity and singalong warmth, with room for both the older anthems and more recent material.
